Lizard in the Spring

The first bar is a pick up bar with two intro notes on beats 3 and 4. When you repeat at the end of bar 17 you don’t repeat this bar.

Try to hold the C5 chord (0033) as much as you can throughout the song. There are hammer-ons in bars 2 and 14 and pull-offs in bars 3, 12 and 15 (I teach these and other techniques in the online lessons).

Note the performance accents off the beat in bars 4, 5, 8 and 9. This adds a little syncopation and energy to drive the song along as the 2& beat jumps out in front of beat 3.

Note only the drop thumbs are labelled T. I assume all the other open string 4 drones are played by the thumb as well..

Remember to tap your foot on Beats 1 and 3 of every bar. This along with any percussive hits from spare picking fingers on the top of the uke will add to the impression of someone dancing along to your playing.
