Jump Critter Jump duet, Uke 1

Here is a chirpy little duet I wrote recently for two clawhammer ukes. Uke 1 plays the backup part with double stops, while Uke 2 is a simpler melody line.

Learn them both and when you are up to speed you can play along with the audio of the other part. Both tune pages have the audio for both individual parts as well as the joint duet.

I think something magic happens when two ukes overlap as the listener then makes up and hears their own final melody out of the two overlapping parts.

Performance Notes

There are quite few double stops (two notes played at once), so you will need to be quite accurate with your down picking.

In part B you will see Glx denoting a Galax lick which is a  downstream with a thumb note immediately following on.

P denotes pull-off and H hammer-on.

I cover all of these in detail in my online lessons.
